Always hard to make a solid ID from a pic but are you sure thats a Darl ? Seems to have parallel
flaking which could point to something older { pun intended }

Just by the picture I was thinking the same thing.

I think it is a Darl. I have a classic Darl base that has transverse oblique flaking also, and looks very similar (I was hoping Paleo – but I don’t think so)

This Darl that I found Saturday in the local creek. It was my first creek hunt in months (I was going crazy waiting for a decent rain to refresh the gravel bars).

The fine flaking on this Darl is killer - transverse oblique flaking on both sides. The material is very fine grain root beer colored flint and very translucent (it’s missing the “bubbles” characteristic of Georgetown root beer flint).

It was a great way to start back creek hunting.

You found a trully awesome Darl, one of the best I've seen in a very long time.

Well it's all turned over again where you made the big find, Unfortunatly its under 10 feet of
raging flood waters ! A real algae scrubber.

I think that killer point could be an Early Stemmed or even a Victoria. In any case it is a real nice point.
