yesterdays trip/i.d. help

went digging yesterday and found a couple,i dont know what the side notched point or the one to the right of it is. the side notched point came from an early archaic layer.

this point is a heavily resharpened, fluted lanceolate, point, with ground basal edges at first i thought angostura, but they arent fluted. they dont even have basal thinning.

Re: yesterdays trip/i.d. help

Small side notched appears to be a La Jita, an early archaic point.

Re: yesterdays trip/i.d. help

La Jita, see finds in " GOOD DAY AT SHOEPEG " by Te

Re: yesterdays trip/i.d. help

I would agree, the side nitched point is a La jita. Not sure about the other one

Re: yesterdays trip/i.d. help

It is a la jita, fits the description even has the "two broad basal thinning flakes" off of the base as described in heaters book. But the other one is still a mystery, it came from the bottom of the hole below the early archaic, so it's either the beginning of the early archaic layer or maybe paleo. Thanks for the help guys
