ONE ONE ONE OH

New year started a bit like white christmas...a few trips combined to provide a date. This little wash area has NOTHING but sun burned white flint.

While on Google looking at the dive operations, I went after the "flint patina " colors AGAIN. The
above pics are so extreme white and on BOTH SIDES I wasnt convinced just sun did that.

I finally found a more satisfactory explanation of pure white " sun bleached " flint.
Googled WHITE FLINT PATINA. . .
Came up with a listing for a scientific paper publication.
In brief it says Sodium Carbonate will turn flint white as ionisation and soil PH has an effect.

So the occasional flint flake may be modified by the sun's UV rays, The rest, the sooner it gets covered over by active soils, the longer it has to
