Perimeter of Texas

Here's a cool thing going on that's outside the world of points. There's a guy walking around the perimeter of Texas as we speak. Started in Corpis and is currently in my hometown of Wichita Falls. Sleeps in hotels, with friends, and on the roads and in fields. pretty cool. Here's a direct link that gives a day by day update. http://twitter.com/PerimeterHiker

Re: Perimeter of Texas

I checked it out, pretty cool. Guess it's one of those

things that no one has ever done before. Man this guy

is really going to have his work cut out if he plans

to actually encircle the state and come down the Rio

Grande. Don't know that I'd want to do that with all

the border problems that go on. Might have to go down

and congratulate him if he can make it to Del Rio,Tx.

before July!

Re: Perimeter of Texas

You said it Mike, That hiker's going to think he's on the Afgan- Pakistan border !
Wonder what his personal specifications are for the " border " of TX. Like is a paved road 1/2 a mile away
valid ? Or does one foot have to stay wet while following a river border ?

The guy has created a lifetime job security nitch. If he's 20 years old and it takes a year to do a perimeter
[ not 12 months due bad WX ] If he does all the States then he can settle down so social security has a fixed adress to send the checks to.

Re: Perimeter of Texas

Just imagine how many indian campsites this guy will

likely walk across if he dose go completely around the

texas border!
