Bastrop county perd!

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos
bastrop county perd! G10! Surface find!

Re: Bastrop county perd!

nice!

Re: Bastrop county perd!

Yes, very nice, but not a G-10. The barbs look chipped

and the symetry is slightly off. I'd give it a good

solid G-8, as I think thats what Dwain would assess.

Re: Bastrop county perd!

Very nice, I love the pinkish red color. Probably heat treated if my guess is right.

Re: Bastrop county perd!

Thanks guys! It is my favorite point! No chips and wafer thin! It's papered though, g10!

Re: Bastrop county perd!

Must not have been Dwain Rogers who papered it. He'd

never grade that high on that one. It IS, never-the-

less, a very nice point.

Re: Bastrop county perd!

Actually I agree with you about grade even though I'm bias cause it's my favorite point! It is wafer thin, no joke! Flaking is beautiful! The gentleman who papered it was...let's just say I didn't agree totally with his observations! I'm not complaining about the grade but I think D. Rodgers would have graded it a little lower! This point was found in the brush(surface find) in a little wash out that I had been checkin for 4 yrs! I had a hunch and didn't give up on the spot, I think that's why I cherish the point so much!

Re: Bastrop county perd!

Same logic with metal detector people, most can tell you the place, time of day and Wx conditions for every
penny they find.
I keep my very first surfacing finds in a ratty sandwich bag....Their discusting
But I treasure them !

Re: Bastrop county perd!

I very much understand how you feel about the point,

and meant only to be constructive in my comments. I

was much the same way when I started as well. I have

typing and grading points for many years now, and true

G-10s are actually a bit more rare than you might

think (perfect in every aspect). I just think that

there are some authenticators out there who also

rarily ever see true G-10 Quality. Thank you greatly

for sharing your really good finds!
