PS:

You have to make the picture smaller to SEE the whole picture

Re: Abilene points

Well, what they are worth, and what you can actually get can be very different things, but a rough ball park figure that I narrived at was + or - 2K for all. To calculate I had to pick an average value of 30. each, but some are likely worth more.It would take a while to assess that many points to be more accurate.
Nice collection & display!

Re: Abilene points

yeah i'm curious if all are from around taylor county? really pretty flint.

Re: Abilene points

My dad bought them from a friend of his. The guy was 80 years old and wanted to sell them to someone who would appreciate them. All I know was that they were collected around the Abilene area. I thought some of the flint looked like it might have come from the Alibates area.

Re: Abilene points

He also bought this one too from the same friend.

Re: Abilene points

One of the things thats impressing me about this

collection is that alot of people mount their brokes

along with the wholes, and this guy mounted only the

wholes. He must of had bucket loads of brokes!Oh yeah,

the perspective total just went up to approx. 3,500.

with the extra frame case. Geting Dwain to give you

an approx. worth on these would be good, if you can

realistically do that. The best way to do that would

be to plan to take them with you to the Temple show

in June. It's a for sure bet that he will be there.

Re: Abilene points

Will do. When is the June show in Temple?

John
Will do. When is the June show in Temple?

First week in June. For a second opinion first, good show promoters have provided an oppurtunity. . .
Buchanan Dam show, March 27th.

Re: Abilene points

I buggested the June show at Temple for several

reasons, First it's the Best in the State each year,

and Dwain would Not miss it for the World (being

almost in his back yard), Second, Dwain sometimes

dose not attend new shows, and the show in March is

a new show (but put on by great folks), and last,

if I were going to the trouble of lugging all 3 cases

to a show, there would be alot more dealers &

knowledgeable folks there to look at them, etc., And

if you like artifacts, who wouldn't enjoy that show?

Actually, you could get several opinions just from

that one show.

Re: Abilene points

I found out some more info on the points:

he found all these on the surface near El Dorado, TX in Schleicher County. The exact location was just SW of El Dorado.

Re: Abilene points

I figured that they would have had to come from that

far southwest for some of the point types in the

cases. Dwain Rogers lived there when I first started

talking to him, so I have no doubts he will know quite

well about all of them.

Re: Abilene points

i like those 4 points in the middle they are so sick!
