It RAINED in Tucson Arizona. . .Some streets flooded. Locals made the most of it, at least 1/2 the drivers hit the gas to see who could drench the
pedestrians the farthest away. .
Cant let a little flood stop my sight seeing. .
One of the dealers had this junk yard dog on patrol. . pretty tame though, liked Milky way candy. .
Made the offer but this guy seemed to be think the sugar was bad for the teeth. .
Nice hot dog mustard piece, "grand Canyon of Texas " in backround for scale. . .
Better pic of scale subject, Pecos river from 3rd highest RR span in the States. . .
Hal, went over the Pecos River bridge about a month ago. I guess they have finished the new construction!
Well they certainly finished the bridge I was on
That section of river must have been like the Berlin Wall of it's day to the ancients seperating E from W.
Those walls are so formidable there may have been a few ancients that died of thirst from not being
able to scale down that 300 feet or so to water !
To heck with the scenic "beauty" - - - I have always been amazed at the water forces that ground down
through the bedrock in such a vertical manner.
Well, there are ways to cross the canyon, just not right there. Actually, there is a bunch to see in that area. Seminole Canyon, Fate Beel Shelter, & Judge Roy Beans place at Langtry. Also one of my old stomping grounds for caving. Yes, pretty amazing what water can do to the limestone over time, its one of the things thats always fascinated me about caving!
Good Pictures!
