What to look for

I am very new to this hobby and was wondering what you guys look for before starting a dig. I mean as far as the landscape goes.

Re: What to look for

Look for long slopes faceing south close to water(1/2 mile) broken rock some may have been heat treated any old bone fragments of course teepee rings if available. If the land is farmed sandy soil seems to hold more artifacts than heavy land. Broken rock is the key most times. Hope this will help and happy digging.
