padre island-surface hunt

Saw all that great info posted about mcfaddin beach and was hoping if anyone had some info for padre island national seas****? Im assuming its illegal to surface hunt there but if it wasn't, where would be a good place to look?

Re: padre island-surface hunt

I was there at padre this weekend looked but didnt find anything !!

i was talking to a old timer x game warden and he said matagora bay is a sweet spot dont know but

i want to take a trip to galveston and go ghunting there

Re: padre island-surface hunt

yeah you gotta think that whole matagora bay area has a lot of paleo lurking around...i have a map of padre island that i purchased from the visitor center there that shows two karankawa sites in the middle section so i know there is some flint somewhere

Re: padre island-surface hunt

My old stomping grounds was SPI (South Padre Island). I did find one point there 20 years ago on the beach and part of a fossilized crab. A few fossils are down in the town of PI, mostly horse bones. That was also part of the Karakawa tribes area.
