Re: G-town flood

The area got pounded. Some of the creeks were as high as I have ever seen them.

Glad thats not my backhoe.

Re: G-town flood

I got 14 1/2 inches in Florence

Re: G-town flood

You guys have all the fun. All we got was a little over an inch and it was all drizzle. No high winds. Just drizzle.

Re: G-town flood

I know where your at g-t.......VERY impressive. Tks for the report ( no 15 minute flint digging this lunch ?? )

Two things come to mind looking at the various inundations of our old Indian camping grounds.....An individual Indian would only have to see one of these events once in his life to keep him from EVERY camping near a possible flash flood area . . . . for the rest of his life

Item two, looking at all that water is impressive alright.....but how about the fact that within about 3 hours.....all that weight was SUSPENDED above the earth

There are 8.6 gallons in 1 cubic foot X 8 lbs per gallon = each cubic foot weighs 69 lbs.
Up that to a cubic YARD ( 3 ft on a side ) = 1863 lbs

It would be nice to think how good the "surfacing" will be after the water recedes BUT after that violent flow everything will be about the roundness of golf balls
