A Whatsit

One of the guys that works in the NRCS office with the wife found this one on his place near Weatherford on the Clear Fork Trinity River. I don't know if it's a worn out point or not. Not something I've seen down in the brush country. The base isn't ground. Any ideas?

Re: A Whatsit

that's my neighborhood Ken but I don't know what it is...? kinda looks river polished

Re: A Whatsit

I kinda thought you'd pick up on it Travis. His family has a ranch near Weatherford and the flint bug has been nibbling at him a little. Of course with my help.

Re: A Whatsit

That would be my first thought. It's not fluted or does it have basal grinding. Just going by the books it does have the right shape though.

PELICAN

Re: A Whatsit

Ditto on the Pelican. Nice find.

Re: A Whatsit

rogers side hollowed imho

Re: A Whatsit

That's the one I compared it to in Hester's book. The base is right.
