GeeTen recently posted some finds he " dug out of a creekbed " Interesting prospect as there are more
creeks than middens in Tx.
We deceided to put the big effort to a very small dry wash that has been surfaced to death for years.
Here's some pics ( we'll just add to this posting from time to time )
A cutie patutie !
Wash dirt depth about 10 to 15 inches.
Even shallow insitus are good for a Shallow Hal
Badger in the roots ( just like gold panning work, the roots hold or slow down stones that were heading for the Gulf of mexico )
Enjoying a "big" insitu
Lookin good
If it looks " too good to be true" it's probably " no good "
Add on ;;
Points look very diminutive on Metate & Mano find day.
The "big lump" next to the mano is actually a "Georgetown knife"...Comperable to the lumps known as
Kerrville Knives in SW TX handhold is flat rather than the better rounded nodule but the working edge is worked better than a basic chopper .
