Fall Creek 12/5/2010

Had a little luck yesterday. Big chunk of pottery, sweet drill, and knife. All from the bird point layer.

Those are some great finds Travis. That's one small drill. Is that an extra notch in that knife?

Re: Fall Creek 12/5/2010

Hey Ken. Thanks for comment. That knife is actually broken. I found the base first and the tip a few hours later. They were both about 3.5 ft deep. Ancient break.

Re: Fall Creek 12/5/2010

nice finds. love the serrations on the blade.

Re: Fall Creek 12/5/2010

Way ta go Since you found both pieces, one might say you "had a lucky break" .
How's this for a conundrum....we all have those 2,3,and 4 inch Archaic "drills", presumably for drilling gorgets and shoelace holes and any important job that needed a big hole.
Well how did all those big drilling jobs get done in bird point days, with bird point sized drills

Re: Fall Creek 12/5/2010

I was thinking that same thing Hal. Michelle and I had the same thought. I just wonder if they ever used little drills to pierce ears??

Re: Fall Creek 12/5/2010

Ouch!!!

Re: Fall Creek 12/5/2010
