nice sandia pat i have mine on ebay . unwillingly .
actually lunker, we found several of these points on pat's p.p. and we were calling them snap base knives not knowing really what they were.sent it to Dewaine to get a coa for peace of mind and he called it a nolan knife. i really like this 1 in particular because its proof that the indians were the first to make the clip point blade.
That's a castroville eccentric I dug last year. It has the sides rechipped into 4 points that look kinda like gravers. Showed it to lots of folks at fredricksburg last year and No-one could tell me anything about it.
AHA ....FINALLY......I knew it had to happen
For a year we have seen a little dirty hand holding some dirty points saying " look what I found today "
Well now we see that all the good ones are washed and properly displayed. A very nice collection
This frame thread has shown a lot of interest in nice points and how to display them...For those that are still working on arrangements for their finds..here's some thoughts that could be considered..
Only for the handy or not mentally challenged, checkout the PICTURE FRAMES at your local thrift store.. Some can be really beautiful and for just a few bucks. The handy comes in because you have to handmake a very shallow box that screws on the back of the picture frame. ( this presentation is best for
complete collections where the "case " doesn't have to be continuously opened.)
Backround materials are more visible than any frame..Experiment with what you like. Retail stores like "Cloth World " has a huge selection to choose from. Here's one not for every one but the effect is knock out
Make a cardboard copy of the point you want to highlight. Tape it ( tape doubled over to hold it in place ) then with any color spray paint can carefully
spray over the icon. Say black paint on a red cloth.
Lightly replace the fake cardboard with the real point.
Just try it on a junk piece of cloth ( PS : be arty, dont paint black on black or red on red etc,, ...)
Under another recent " Frames" posting, Pat has made a beautiful, deep welled coffee table with select
artifacts....Anyone wanting to up the unique level, I suggest you create the same thing but line the inside with glass and seal the edges with silicon.
Imagine the joy of seeing FISH swimming over your collection
Tuck, again your collection is fabulous. I have one very bad criticism though that I wouldn't dare air without your written consent.
If you can handle the agravation RSVP...If not it's no big deal
Ugh y'all are making me sick with all this badass flint, Tucker I'm jealous of all those montells and Hal that case with all the overlaps.....all I can do is sit here in silence and shake my head and the Mona Lisa point....I think I need to change my britches just kidding!
