it has the leaves of a mountain laurel. both have beautifull lavender clusters.BUT i thimk he missed the mark on skink. its the urosaurus ornatus ornatus.(texas tree lizard)
Hi There Hal, Nice photos, hate to have to CORRECT you, but that awesome little lizard you showed is NOT a skink, though skinks certainly do occur in your part of Central TX., he's a Fence lizard, also called a Fence Swift, by alotta herp(reptile) people, like myself. As far as the exact type of Fence lizard, hes probably a Western Fence Swift in the reptile books. Thought you should know, Hooray for Spring now Sprung! John in KS
