this one set the metal detector off also...hubby cut a window on this one to see what it looked like lol so just let me know what you think. Opinions welcomed.

Could be a stoney iron meteorite
Meteorite...Absolutly a possibility, would be nice if the other side that we cant see had ablation crust
( smooth burned exterior.)
More earthly thoughts...fairly pure Ferris (iron ) concretion.
How about a piece of Basalt... ( volcanic material )
One thing that might help the professional that finally looks at it and in the long run for your own
Enjoyment......Have Hubby spend a few hours with some good files to make that cleaned area very flat and close to polished with Emory wet paper.
Need some encouragement to get it looked at ??
If that is truly a meteorite...one that size will buy you a brand new fully loaded Mecedes B ( to use on your field trips )

ok thanks everyone.we are taking it to a lab Monday will post results.this is what it looks ilke now or the "window" after a few days of filing and polihing on it. you can see here in the sunlight how metalic it looks under a 30x magnifying glass it looks like polished silver or nickle...so will know more in a few days......thanks again, e1 for your opinions.
