Sweet Darl. I think it was over 5in. My buddie kept it. All the others are in my collection. Agreement was he would keep the pick of the day and the rest would be mine. Boy did he score. I will get the length and update later. I think the other is an Angostura. Everyone agree? Mostly Darl and birdies in this area we are in. Not sure what the square stemmed one is. I think one is a Bulverde. I'm open to suggestions on identification. Hot and dusty today.
Nicest Darl blade I've ever seen. It is the best artifact off this site by far. My pics don't do this blade any justice. It was to drool over for sure.
Didn't include pic of bases, tips, hammer stones, choppers, hand axes and misc....Going back in the morning for a few hours. Taking the kid we me. Hope we do well. Will post on Sunday if we have any luck.
wow what a day!!! from historic to early archaic, great occupation.congrats on ya'lls finds.. just which square base are you refering? there are so many to chose from.
my best guess would be, lange. hard to tell by pic if it has beveling on base to call it nolan or zorra but has the right shape to fit any of the above.
Thanks. We went again yesterday in hopes of duplicating a similar find but no such luck. Those big blades are so few and far between. Hey, but we tried. Fcat is ,we prolly found the best blade on the site. But who knows!
The Darl Blade was 4 in. long. Sure looked like five. I guess they're like fish. They always look bigger until you get back home. Still is an impressive blade.
