Seven yrs ago I was swinging a sewer trenching pick, heard a "flint sound " pulled it towards me and in a blink,,,,there was a fair sized point just sitting out.

Last week at the Tam/Floyd site, I had broken a big chunk of soil loose and was then raking through it...
Deja Vue
"Again"..Pulled the rake towards me, never saw or heard the flint....Just one blink and there it was
just standing straight up. No telling whats under the dirt except that it must be big enough to support the visible tip
Relatively new digger Larry Cantwell was right there...probably might think this is the "normal" way
to find points.....
What do you have there Hal? How about a side view. Couldn't tell from the pic if it's a blade or a Clear Fork. Still a good find. A question though, what's up with the electrical tape on the finger?
I REALLY thought I had broken through the Corner Tang barrier...This pic is just the way it was raked out, untouched...Look at that rounded edge and only one notch visible. Could see it was thin and quality made
Drumroll mystro please .., Corner Tang dance about to start
GeeX called it right, right from the start, just a dam base tang
still want to see that one cleaned up....its a killer.
Both cleaned blades featured above are in this pic. Most older finds from this mound are that non descript bleached white.
JK Hood just made it to the front page with a real quality Blade. Didn't specify what site or if it is clean but it's got that look of unwashed bleached.
