Professional surfacer, Oklahoma Alvin came down for a wee look around Chrisners
Even Okie's do things in big ways, checkout his insitu and measuring knife....Thats an unbroken drill he said he found 20 minutes into the start of the hunt
Like all good surfacers, the 'usual' bits...but wait ..there's a diamond in the rough..an ANDICE
We got to talking shop and comparing 'tools'..my two flint flickers on the left, longer custom made tips for Al ( sweeps wider, covers more area )... All carbon fiber, strong, Wx proof and LIGHTWEIGHT
My turn ( after a couple hrs slugging )
Dirty - but heartwarming
Nother plopped out 'insitu' ( notice spotlighted from above )
Even after a big rain, all the finds seem to be coming out dirty today
The 'road' is still passable but slowly getting narrower.
Multi purpose end of day record..after rain wild flowers, map including Okla..for scale, Al contributed a twenty dollar bill to the Austin Diggers site fund.....Nice tasty dog biscuit goes unused..( After Spyder got his dawn biscuits, he spent the day with other diggers with more gormet food )
Also in pic, some flint flakes..
Last close up of days' best
Al stopped by before heading back north..
this pencil drill was found broken ..One of the mules step on it ?? or some club footed digger ?
How about THIS prize for a long drive, a complete beautifull WELLS. .. Note that Al protects his finds in eye glasses cases...
EVERYTHING is big in TX & OK,,,checkout that 'beer belly ' !!
Al says he found about 50 pieces of worked flint and fossils.
