artifact hunting can be dangerous!!

our friend BIG B.T. has been coming up with places to explore right and left. this time he got us on 3500 acres of land in Irion county. we drove to the place and got there before the sun came up. since it was our first time there and had no clue of the lay of land (topo map)we stayed in the first 2 pastures, about 800 acres. anayway we drove to the first hill that had a good flat top area and started our first exploration on the new place. my friends Big B.T. S.W. and Brr. went rt and I went left.after about 20 minutes I found something unusual and whisted for my buds. well thats when all hell broke loose, S.W and Brr said B.T. took off in a b line toward me and tripped over a rock and started falling, they said it took 30 feet for him to fall down. anyway that was in the first 30 minutes of the trip and this is what his hand looked like at the end of the day when we were on his porch drinkin up the painkillers.

B.T. is a major trooper, we continued on about another hour and a half not finding much but Brr. found this bull skull in which we all tried to talk him out of.

we decided to drive over to the T. P. where B.T. has been diging now for a few months did I say he was a trooper, he jumped out of the truck and started digging.we spent the rest of our time there and found the countless # of brokes we normally find. I gotta tell you it was Brr's day. first I will show yall B.T.'s new frame with a couple of new points from recent finds and then Brr.'s finds.

Re: artifact hunting can be dangerous!!

almost forgot to post my find of the day. I did find the best piece of red ochre I have ever found, shaped like a triangle smooth on 3 of the 5 sides if that makes any sense and i used the rough side to show how well it colors after wetting.

Re: artifact hunting can be dangerous!!

Wow, thats a heck of an adventure report. And a good warning to all to take care in the wilds.

Big BT really means B I G BT... ..wonder that more serious harm could have happen once he got moving.

How do you people get those big acerages to explore ??
Chrisners is a mere 400 acres and it takes a long time to drive from one end to the other to say nothing of investigating every inch..

What do you figure that split tailed point is, bottom L on the red frame ?

Happy recovery BT ( mainly from the hangover )

Re: artifact hunting can be dangerous!!

[ Pat, I had a great time as well. I am going out with Taylor Sr. to find out how the ranch sits. SH hang over was not that bad. It was more like waking up and thinking my summer could have been surface hunting only. Not sure about point ID in the frame we tried to find one in the book with no luck.

NO PAIN, NO GAIN!
