Pedernales River

I had a chance to walk a stretch of the Pedernales River yesterday. Seems like an artifact would have no chance for survival with all the large river rocks tumbling around.

What's your Pedernales surface hunt strategy?

Thanks for any input!

Re: Pedernales River

My advise is the same as a couple of other surfacers getting on a property...Just DO it.

Very Very strange things happen in the flint world. as far as condition, a point might have just fallen off a bank last night.

Also might depend on what part of the river, the very lower reaches before going into Travis seems heavily silted and wouldn't damage any points,,,would also make it impossible to find any laying out

Re: Pedernales River

Thanks Hal

Just figured out my wife picked up a nice little unifaced flake or blade in the middle of the rocks. matches up nicely with Hester description.
