Anybody familiar with this area, northwest of Commanche? Is it an artifact rich area?
I have access to about 500 acres...land is a mix of cotton fields and river/creek bottom land.
The area that today is Comanche County, Texas was home to Native American People for ten thousand years before the Comanche tribe showed up in the late 1600's. Look for places where there is or was water. Start on the high ground and work your way down. A fresh-plowed cotton field sloping down into a creek bottom after a heavy rain can be productive . Proctor Lake is about seven feet below normal water levels so there's lots of exposed s****line. Look for high hills with a SE exposure over-looking water.
Man, I'm ready when you are. It's that Sojurn time of year coming up for me.
I've been told that part od Comanche county and further sw into Brown county is super for surface hunting and digging.
I wish you luck. G.
