Big crowd, lots of finds, and a nice sunny day in Paradise.
Finally got to meet Travis and Lacy, Pointfinder, G-Man, Gee-Ten, and some of the old friends from past digs were there, Wayne and Regina, Kansas Pat, and Louisana Jim and his son Jaimie.
Travis is hard at it in the pic. Hal's there too checking out something of great interest.
Here's our finds, including the two pieces of shell necklace. Jaimie found another piece, I think it's the center piece, and it's posted on Hal's tailgate pic.

Ken. I like the finds ! I wish I could come and screen. It's always a treasure hunt or a box of chocolates; you never know what you will get. Great pics, super artifacts. Thanks for sharing.

People were impressed with the huge Perd base. then when the North end was found, TJ took it around to show off. Not only a great point but a memorable back story to go with it !!

Here's ANOTHER back story...

The Perd I got is nice but only 2 7/8ths inch. I went to measure Flick's Perd as compared to your scale..

Well it seems I DONT OWN A HALF DOLLAR !!
I stopped by the local Walgreens drugs...ALL THREE registers..not a single 1/2 $.
One more stop at a busy convienience store...ZIP HALF $....So at this writing I'm scaleless...From the tailgate pic I guess your Perd at 3 1/2 to 3 3/4.

Course the tailgate is about as usefull to me as a half dollar..I dont own one of those either

Split that # right down the middle Hal. It's 3.5" exactly. That .50 cent piece is one of the last remnants of when casino slot machines used to pay out in real money, now it's just tickets.
On one load she found the base, the next load she found the other half. That in itself was a miracle. That other half could easily ended up on another screen and gone into somebody elses bucket or brokes pile. I left it up to her to see how she wanted it fixed, super glue or Gomer glue. Either way it'll be repaired and in the frame.
How'd you fare Hal? I saw your Perd and a couple of others but haven't seen your total finds of the day.
Zach and Nicolle got out of there before the tail gate pic. They had some nice points too, just never got photo'd. They put them in a frame for us to look at before they left.
Forgot to mention, that second point, top row, is a Perdiz missing the tail, but with an extra notch. That makes three bird points now in my collection with extra notches.

There was so much scurrying to get going I dont think ANYBODY really took time to look for any matching pieces...wish I had, that mega Castroville base tang
would have some easy to spot giant pieces.
