Here's what the front entrance to Starr Adventure ranch looks like off Firefly Rd (231)
Gate is unlocked Sat & Sun at 0700.....Enter... AND RECLIP THE GATE CLOSED ...There is a lot of various livestock on the ranch just waiting to make a tour of the county.
once inside, continue ahead to the HYUNDAI dealership ( red shipping container ) take a LEFT ( then R ) and go around the box.
Closest parking to ALL the dig sites is left side of where the dirt road kicks right, just past the pole.
Dig where ever you feel lucky. Craig will catch up with you for the paperwork.
Locating the Theremom on the ice water is a lot better
. . . . . . . .SUPRISE...
Covington
Here's an overall look at the area...What a wonderful location the ancients had, all that camp firerock
right next to a flowing spring...waterfront property
7 days ago the spring was " burbling " as it came out of the ground.
No " burble " today ... the water exit was at least a couple of inches lower.....a good example of how campsites would have been repositioned as the water
table varied.
Note for those that might look for other camp sites. The water level tech data does NOT mean that a camp was moved by 2 INCHES.....
From a dead dry Summer to crashing Monsoon season the shift along the drainage may be a few hundred feet
Drill is snapped clean, even if it was a simple 'paddle' drill, it must have been impressive. Blade find was a bit of a disapointment.....I was looking for a base tang
It was a good day...I can never find a tail gate when I need one
eric, I'll get back tomorrow with a cleaned up act meanwhile look through the dirt for any subtle gems
