A few more details of the day.
Nice insitu but even from here you can see that it is broken
Very fine workmanship
Young fellow named Rodger found these today. That beautiful Martindale attests to some really older
occupation in this area.
This tree grew right through the camp, almost hit my insitu
A lot of worked edge can be seen
If this was found in far East TX and to the NE, it would be classified as Hoe blade. In Florence it's
just a big scraper.
IF...it ever rains again in Texas...the first surface hunters on the scene should do well. This perfect Mano I found up top in the massive last year's rubble
Jayradd and I missed you by one day. We went out on Saturday, but unfortunately we didn't leave with anything complete. We did get a WHOLE bunch of brokes, but i'm not counting the place out yet. We had a good time out there and got to talk to some old "missing" buddies. I will make another trip out soon.
i knew there would be the famous "gradual post". keeps us thorsty for more. looks like the site produced some scrapers, mano, and perds. I'd like tp get there after a hard rain.....rain??

Dam Trav, I didn't think anybody would notice
Since it takes me 12 hours of digging plus travel time
then hours of uploading, downloading & side loading to
do a report ...I thought the viewers would like to enjoy a longer eperience rather than the usual 20 seconds
" look what I found " pic
Case in point ...here's another installment to start your day
4 washed finds
1....Darl blade
.
2....Perd
.
3....Comanche Perd
.
4....Scale, U.S.$ quarter value on 9-4-11 .04 cents
I like the gradual posts. The perds are easy i.d.'s. I second the Darl blade. I've got one just like that. Looks nice. This is definatly the time to take advantage of cooler temps. Forecast show for a HOT tuesday next week.
