I know a man that had an awesome collection, corner tangs and the
whole ball of wax. His house got hit in Granbury, Texas. They got guns,
arrowhead frames & anything that was not nailed down.
They caught them and got a few things back. They then ask them about
the arrowhead collection. They said they took them to their fence [Buyer].
He said get rid of them quick because they can be traced. Guess what they did,
dumped them frames & all in the Trinity River. Someday someone might have
a nice collection. This was about 20 years ago. He did have insurance but he had found
most of them himself in Bell County.

The question was brought up in some of my emails about why would anyone have half a million dollars in artifacts in a trailer and leave it unattended in a motel parking lot? Or half a million in anything? If it were mine, I'd have it locked up in my room or at least have the trailer in a secure place surrounded by half a dozen people hating pit bulls with attitude probelms.
Nothing worse than a theif & a liar. I sure miss the days when the law had more bite & the victim was the good guy & the bad guy was put out of his misery.
