Clovis at Liberty Hill ?

Found this day before yesterday.
You be the judge. It's heavily ground base and fluted body pretty much tell the story. Firstview Plainview, not sure but... It is Paleo and I'm happy to see it come from our camp. Happy Hunting !

Re: Clovis at Liberty Hill ?

Hard to see the flutes in the pics its more like basel thinning strikes. I would say plainview but the flakeing?

Re: Clovis at Liberty Hill ?

I'll try and get a better light refraction to show flute. Here are the other couple shots I got today.

In my humble opinion, definitely not Clovis ( sharpness of the base points too sharp )
All Flo's observations good...
Best thing it has going for ID is that basal grinding is associated with very old points..

So it's a very old beauty

Just by coincidence, I just brought up an older posting titled " ARROWHEAD REPAIR "..
Scroll down, Josh is showing a point with rather sharp basal points like yours ( Flaking better defined though )...you might ask him what he calls HIS ?

Re: Clovis at Liberty Hill ?

I can dream... Okay Golindrina or Dalton. The one for sure thing like you said Hal, The ground base does set the age at late paleo at least. I'll be able to tell better when I find a whole one. Thanks for the input fellas.
