The weekend is almost upon us.. Here's my best try..
To forestall the flurry of great info that usually accompanies these requests, let me state;
" it's illegal to surface hunt anywhere in Texas "
So as a naturalist out for a look at Texas wildlife.
Find where OLD Manor rd crosses Walnut Creek...Park on the small road.
Highish boots would be in order. Take an empty back pack. The fossils are great, including TEETH, from
Shark and Ray ...to Buffalo....to clam shells of unreasonable thickness. Petrified wood and flint.
In & out of the creek at the bridge...Wanna see a REAL indian camp ?( dug out )..SE corner from bridge.
Do some homework...Look for anyone else that may have done the same 11 years ago. ( see oldest icons on bottom of frt pg. )
2nd week of deer season...id be real careful bout hoppin fences...probably better near creeks in the city limits tho
Excellent advice..
Even BEFORE the explosive growth in Centex,,,,The Walnut creek section described was in the heart of the city years ago...probably a hike & bike trail with novelty stores along the way now..
