so two of my employees had a young fella that needed a job, ok no big deal. he has asked me a couple of times if we could hunt for arrowheads sometime. well I had to carry a house down to the oilfields out of Kermit today, so sent the rest of the guys on a job and carried this new young fella along with me, after we droped the unit, I with all of my youth and wisdom said ok lets go out in the sand dunes and hunt, it isnt hard to get carried away and wander a little farther than you realize, two hours later we start looking for the semi, oooops where is it, up and down up and down, 20 foot,30 foot, 40 foot sand dunes, oh my legas hurt, four hours later we have no idea where we are, water has long been gone, five hours later were ready to dig in the sand for water lol. dont look for the power lines out there, they dont follow roads, the follow everything, power lines all over the place, 6 1/2 hours later we finally hear a truck on a road. all i got to show for it was a few burnt rocks and a hand full of flakes, my legs are killing me, my back hurts. my pride is a thing of the past. and im just gonna wait until next years digfest lol!!!

Well that story ought to dampen future upcoming surface hunters. At least you seem to have cleaned out all the artifacts in that part of Tx

I would have totally stressed out !!!!

I can't even walk in the woods without following the road or the noise from my neighbors lawn mower running before I go wandering! I would just walk in circles and get lost easy!!!!!!
