I doubt there's any repellent that works on bees. Seven dust thrown on the entrance of their hive at night works to get rid of them. Bees aren't active after dark.

We dug in the vicinity of the bee nest yesterday... They cant be the "normal" admirable hardworking creatures that we all love and admire. They swarmed and buzzed like mad hornets the entire time we were there. You could hear them 50 feet away. No stings but we stayed well away. I'm thinking they may be of the Zulu or Mau-Mau variety

Why such shallow digging? Is that the bottom of the camp site there?
