Now I'm curious about that long stemmed white one. What's the story on it Hal?
Good eye Te, I'm very pleased with that one, will go in the one of a kind / unique ziplock bag..
There IS a perfect match with it in The OvrstS 12th under WELLS which is known for long stems but this may be pushing the size length.
DrH lists an EVANT, also early Archaic from this area but again it would be at the max limit for stem length.
I like Wells

Well, the reason I was wondering, is this is the third time I've seen a point with that long of a stem, way beyond what's considered normal. All three are really close to being the same overall design. Each was found in a different area. I think one of them was posted here a year or so ago that had a real long stem. A new un-named point?
The entire rock shows the fracturing lines so common on most Ctex quartz..Kinda scary,,,
IF a small piece were to sluff off in the ground food...it would be goodby tooth
Clear Forks? I thought you were calling my name. That bottom one is sure nice. Looks like you found two of those long stemmed points. That makes five of them now that I've seen. Wonder if that's the start of a newly named point type?
The lower CF is a good quality example, top, the working edge looks like he hit a couple of nails as he
was working the wood.
That other (cupcake) point stem being excessively long is just an illusion. Not sure what it is. The occasional Carrolton which have moderatly long stems have been found this far south..
If your campaining for a new point type, I'll vote for you, The CFREX point is original
