Lake Jackson Arrowheads?

Anyone know any areas to dig around Lake Jackson. I'm active duty Coast Guard and just moved here from Louisiana. I'm willing to meet some new friends interested in digging. I'm always on call so it's hard to drive to far so that's why I'm asking about the area where I live. I won't be able to drive real far except once or twice every couple of months.

Cade.

Try Sargent Beach.3vx

Re: Lake Jackson Arrowheads?

Flintpig is right, Sargent Beach is a good place to find artifacts and its close to L.J. Check the tide charts and go at low tide................Note: It is against the law to pick up arrowheads or other American Indian artifacts on Texas Beaches..............sea shells are okay.

Re: Lake Jackson Arrowheads?

I appreciate it. I looked at chart.. I have topographical maps of the entire area. This area just isn't like Central Louisiana. We have many small dwelling mounds that have all sorts of points and chips. we even found to fire burned clay marbles. Any specific part of the beach. The western most area? or anywhere?

Try Entering "SHELL MIDDENS" in the search block above ( hit "view entire thread" too )

Re: Lake Jackson Arrowheads?

If you want to stay legal, you've got to do it on private land. I've heard that they are shell middens along some of the area creeks, like Oyster Creek. If my Dad hadn't accepted a transfer with Dow to Hou., we were going to have a home backing up to Oyster Creek. Ohh well, I can now only imagine what my life could've been if moving to great house on oyster Creek had become true.
