brushy creek

Talking to a friend today about digging on the brushy creek, he had hand dug in one camp for sometime and had made some good finds. He dug down to what he said looked like pea gravel but really no deeper. My question, has any one dug in this gravel layer or is there something below it?

Re: brushy creek

My experience on Brushy falls into the category of "I hope I DONT find anything down this deep "
There was a gravely base in a calichie, yellow soil....definitely NOT a camp looking soil...BUT there was flint flakes in it..
On the lucky occasions we found anything interesting, it was primarily Martindale, one gorgeous Scottsbluff ( fairly rare in that area ) and one surprise HELL GAP ....I luv it
Bone fragments were white and heavy...well on their way to becoming fossilised.

Maybe I better come out and check your site personally tee hee

Re: brushy creek

This spot has been shallow dug, but never into the gravel layer, maybe later this fall we can check it out. Thanks Hal
