BARKSDALE, 10/14/12

Another day on the Nueces

Photobucket

Photobucket

James had some good luck with an Andice and 2 Angosturas. Gary found the Dire Wolf skull ( Chupa Cabra )

Photobucket

Closer of the Andice, it was apparently used as blade and one side resharpened dowm.

Photobucket

Old time veteran flinter Roland joined the party.

Photobucket

Roland ( aka... Mr Zip ) has always had the best of luck with all sorts of tools that always seem to land on his side of the table.

Photobucket

Patty with a complete very delicate Bonham.

Frontpage & James

Photobucket

Right after finding, took a few minutes to assess how a one notched Andice came to be

Morning Halloween decorated Donut for landscape engineer Robert.

Like a day at the beach for MrZip, wiggle them toes in the Nueces sand

Re: BARKSDALE, 10/14/12

At first glance it looked like a carrizo.

Looks like a couple of ango's or maybe one Hell Gap in there?

Re: BARKSDALE, 10/14/12

That's some fine points. Would that Andice be listed as an eccentric?

Would that Andice be listed as an eccentric?

When first found it was recognised as something unique, it's not a broken point with a notch. Must have been something used as a knife and resharpened
( very common for all types )
So the Q is what type ?
Here's the Andice base Nacho found a few weeks ago for comparison.. good notch

Photobucket

In any ID case I agree 100% with Nacho's final determination as he's had so many years experience exclusively in that Nueces valley..He settled on Andice...

However, once I get at least 50 miles away I can safely have my own opinions ...With all the flurry over "Bells" recently I had just seen the OverS examples...The piece in question is a dead ringer for the big $10,000 Bell at the bottom of page 553.
It's James' point, He's allowed to call it what he likes

Sandy, I found a point that on first glance Nach thought was a HellGap...then on closer inspection it had a Nolan Beveled base...AND a Pandale twist..

Photobucket

I'm calling it a HELLISHPANNOL

Re: BARKSDALE, 10/14/12

My find, a Hellishpannol

Photobucket

MrZip ( ambiguous name, means " fast or speedy " finder,,not lack of finds ! )

Photobucket

James....Compare with front page Mellisa picture format....Thats Mrs James on the cover ...
TWO noteworthy finds from two different dig sites in ONE week, in the same family Nice going.

Photobucket

End of dig display time

Photobucket

Just a different slant on James' finds

Re: BARKSDALE, 10/14/12

Super excellent posting. Glad to see Roland back on the tables. Nice finds! Love the Andice. Great pictures. Wish I were three instead of Chicago. No flint in Chicago.
