Now that I see how nice wormwood finishes out I wish I had collected more at the time I picked up this piece
From the Washington coast not far N of the Columbia R mouth. What the surf does to driftwood ( including 50' trees ) is impressive. Note RR spike in
what is left of the crosstie.
Plenty of that wormwood around, might be more correctly called swiss cheese wood
I guess I should seen those in person, or maybe she just sent me some crappy work. My long awaited cases arrive with blotchey finish (full of embedded sawdust), miters mis-aligned ( one side sticking up a full 1/16 above the other), glass not set completely into the rabbitt. Even sliced my finger checking that out! After relaying my disappointment in her product, she told me to pack them up and return them. But once i repacked and asked for the shipping address............she told me to keep them and resale them. That there was nothing wrong with those cases! Once again, "if a deal seems too good to be true...it probably is." If you want a quality case, buy from Cox. Hatchett Creek cases are not even the quality of Meador's!
