Here's the rarest of the rare! A Midtang Found in Cedar Park Tx. photo midtang_zpsfa40573d.jpg

Re: Cornertang fans

Welcome to the club, that is a unique good find. ( We wonder how big it is ?)

Your member number is: 521MMXlllRAR

Re: Cornertang fans

Very Nice!!

Ok the cornertang may have been used as a sickle???? skinnin knife???? Etc. ???

What was the mid back tang used for???

Fancy top of the line hide scraper??

Re: Cornertang fans

Thanks guys,I appreciate it! The size is 2 3/4 inches in length, and 1 7/8

inches tall. Slightly smaller than most tangs, but that seems to be

consistent with any info I have found on them. It's slightly bigger than

the one shown in the 12th edition of Overstreet on page 647. Mine has a

very unique feathering on the rear obviously done, with very sharp edges on

the top, and lower right sides.I assume it was used for the same purpose as

a cornertang, but made to be hafted differently.
