I felt the "usual" little feeling of one of those big pesky flies on the back of my neck....It stayed longer than usual....I stopped digging, took off a glove and gave a big wipe.
To my great surprise it turned out to be a Scorpion,,,! My first though was " Dam, I couldda joined Cleopatra ! "
Shell bead
A big insitu with a very obvious worked edge
Probable scraper
Bird & Bone.
I haven't found a true Bird point in a long time. How much meat could he cut off the bone with this one ?
Scorp #3 ( slightly bent from digging out )
From deep in the red
To high in the sky
Some diggers must be feeding the livestock, they came looking for a handout ( were a lot closer before I could unlimber the cam )
The spring is still running underneath this big block of natural flint....the one with the artifacts on it !
The lake is REALLY low....wonder how it will fare as summer gets closer ?
LOts of new deep digging evident at spring camp ( big rootless still standing )
Yes, most likely Bonham, quite common in these parts.....BUT there's one called a
Moran thats even closer by general design.....BUT Dr H describes the Moran as being in a
VERY limited area that happens to be 3/8ths of an inch farther west of this find.
