Hi All, Heres some more photos I took of this past weekends screen dig that Nacho held along the Devils River Skyline Ranch. Everyone that screened found artifacts that I know of, the weather was a dream, it had rained a little Friday afternoon, maybe .25", & the clouds that lingered all day Saturday & most of Sunday were a blessing to everyone, as normally in mid-June,daytime temps run 90-100F there. When my group arrivved Friday at 3pm, temps were 70F, while back in SE KS, it was baking at 94F at that same time.
I dont think it ever hit more than 80F on Sat & maybe 85F on Sunday. Heres a few shots of some of the finds....
First is Cliff from Midlands Saturday finds
Here is Jasons, also from Midlands Saturday finds with that monster sized nearly 5" pandale, that had about 1/2" of its tip missing. Also a second closer photo of it, with a quarter next to it for comparison
Here was my best finds from Saturday there...
And my best finds from Sunday there...
Here was my friend Mike Whites, also from KS best finds from both days there
And here is my cousin Brad Stiles, also from KS best finds from that weekend, look at that cool notched point on the upper far right corner!
It was a great weekend of screening & Nacho kept everyone in dirt. It was a pleasure spending time with others searching for those tools the native people left from thousands of years ago. I didnt get the chance to photo everyones finds from both days, but there was plenty found.. My Thanks to Nacho, his family there, son Ace, brother-in-law Robert & nephew Robert, ranchhand Clint for hosting such a great, productive dig. Also was a pleasure meeting some new people & others I had already known from other digs........John Fraser, aka KS Clovis John, from Fredonia, KS...
Excellent show John
Some of those Montell people really wore their points "down to the bone"
Very nice classic design Martindales. We see a few of the fancy banded flint too.
You really did hit an excellent wx pattern for that part of TX.
