Question

Can you imagine using one of these to have dinner?

Re: Question

Yea, its pretty **** humbling in my opinion. Thats what got me started in collecting, holding something that hasnt been seen in thousands of years, and knowing that their lives and the lives of their families depended on a rock. Man we take a lot of stuff for granted.

Re: Question

When someone finds a really big point, larger than most of the others of that variety, maybe the original owner had made it for a special hunt of these big
animals.

I vote in favor of a " buffalo jump " for meat shopping.

Re: Question

Yeah, think about it. A mature mammoth stood 12 feet tall at the shoulder, weighed in at 8 tons, was probably angry and they hunted him with a spear.

PRECISELY the point ( pun intended ) that Dr Clark covers in his lecture on the Gault site in reference to the invention of the Atalatl...

With spear throwing, the closer to an enraged animal the better, whereas with an Atalatl a nice safe distance of up to 200 feet could be had.

Even 200 feet is not much if a Cape is charging
