For 10 full days the airwaves & WEATHER.COM before digfest weekend forecast big rain probabilites right from Friday right into the following week.
It was deceided to go ahead with the dig as the work on the clean trenches would have been lost, Diggers were invited to just make the best of it as they could...
As it turned out there was lots of complaints
Not a drop fell on the ranch Friday, early diggers got to it. 50 diggers started at dawn Saturday...By noon the complaints echoed in the valleys... DAM IT'S HOT IN THIS FULL SUN.
The forecast rain was so long overdue that I recorded the event for the history books, 12:03 PM and still hot..!
and stayed that way right through camp dinner and lamplight diggers.
Of course there was some rain..from 1AM to 4AM Sunday morn..top inch and a half turned to mud.
BUT...a complete replay of Saturday,,,partly cloudy ALL DAY Sunday...Early morning tarp tents set up seemed stupid !
Again I recorded the time for the archives.. ( I wasn't there to dark when it was STILL dry )
Visibility was 93 million miles Sunday afternoon ! ( in burned out area )
