Bonfire Shelter: A Stratified Bison Kill Site, Val Verde Co., TX
This archaeological publication concerns one of the best known & researched sites in Texas, from the Texas Memorial Museum, The University of Texas at Austin, Miscellaneous Papers No. 1, 1968.
The book is a large format of 9.5" x 11.5" filled with photo's & illustrations of this site that was investigated before the Amistad Dam was constructed in a canyon of the Rio Grande river & the area holds over 300 deep stratified sites. Currently, what's left of the former sites are buried under the water or they're closely adjoining the flood pool of the dam & this publication is about the investigation of many of the major sites before being flooded. The survey began in Sept. 1963 & continued until Feb. 1964 & the listings of the illustrations & photo's are included below. This is a very rare edition & will increase in value over time. I'm offering this 138 page research book for $45.00 + $5.00 shipping Priority mail. Payment accepted by cashiers check if outside of Austin & either cash of personal check in Austin.
