Re: FREDERICK LANCEOLATE, is this a true Texas Point?
Silverback: i lived in sw oklahoma years ago, there were some collectors that
found what they were calling frederick points. i was told they were named for
the town of Frederick Ok. Frederick is in SW Oklahoma near the Red River.
i would think that they would be found in NW Texas too.
hopes this helps, Angus

I looked at that Ebay point. It looks like a resharpened Plainview although I cant tell if its ground. Not sure what the seller means by Lancolate as the base is concave.
Re: FREDERICK LANCEOLATE, is this a true Texas Point?
Pulled it up on the internet and the one that comes up listed is found in Southern Saskatchewan. No reference to anything south of there. Also listed as Jimmy Allen and Lusk. They are terminal Paleoindian in date.
Good to see you're still around Idaho, hadn't seen you on in a while.
Re: FREDERICK LANCEOLATE, is this a true Texas Point?
More snow predicted too. Hal doesn't like me sending him all this cold weather, cabin fever. I just never was a stingy person so I like to share. I have plenty of cold so figured I'd send him some.
Planning on another trip back to Tx in late spring, I'll let you know when, mabbe you'll have your camera working by then
Re: FREDERICK LANCEOLATE, is this a true Texas Point?
Based on Te's info sent me to the Northern Plains ( NP ) section of the Overstreets book...And there it is !.. Could be Tx/ Ok, those regional limits are very general.
