Any idea on the metal object in the last of the photos? It appears to be copper ......goin by the green tarnish. Kasey found it bout 8" to 10" down in midden ....seems to have been there a very long time. Points came from the honeyhole, had to change it up after getting skunked last weekend at the Kerrville mound. I got lucky and ended up with the killer of the day....enjoy!
Another interesting report, well done. Seems you might be in the Pedernales family part of the camp grounds. Not given a closeup special pic as the "find of the day " but that Perd blade is really classic....last pic middle, one side completely worked down.
No idea on the copper ( bronze ? ) find but it's something better than farm machinery. If it was mine I would clean it with an electrolosis coin cleaner ( Googled " COIN CLEANERS ", Harbor freight has an ULTRASONIC cleaner. )
maybe it has some scribing under the patina. A real surprise find.
Great day digging D&K.. I have never seen the metal object but I personally would not use any type of cleaner on it as with any ancient metal objects it would loose its value... just my 2 cents
Great day D&K, ol faithful still producing nicely. That metal "tool" is awesome, I've never seen anything like it and can't figure out what it would be for. Really nice flint guys
For the size of it, I'd almost think it was decorative trim for something, a chest or some sort of furniture. Looks like holes for bolts or screws. Old whatever it is. Good finds.
