Alabama surface hunting

Spending a few weeks in Birmingham Alabama and was wondering if anyone knew of any good areas to surface hunt. A lot of pine growth everywhere, but i figured id start by gettin in the hills and walking these dry creeks first. Any suggestions appreciated.
