Looking for help getting started digging with kids

I have two nephews, age 9 and 10. We live in Austin and would like to get them exposed to hunting for arrowheads/artifacts. I have never been digging for artifacts myself so I not only need help on where to go and what I need equipment-wise, but was also hoping to do a tag-along and/or guided outing. I'm hoping to increase the chances of some early success to help keep the boys engaged.

Cant beat a personal guide. Baring that, both Starr & Chrisners ranch were very big ancient civilisation country...surface hunting / exploring are bound to turn up something of interest, fossils & wildlife count too.
