What is it?

I don't know if these are common in other parts of Tx. but we have them here. I know what they are but just want to see if anybody can figure out what they could be.

Re: What is it?

Devil's claw or cow catcher?

Re: What is it?

It's what's below and to the right of the plant. Not the plant.

Re: What is it?

Come on now, any guesses? Winner gets a gold star.

Re: What is it?

Could we have a pic with a scale in it pls ? Or maybe just a pic with a 360* perspective

Re: What is it?

Dang, Pat got it. You get the gold stars. Two bullbat chicks. Nest on the ground with no leaves, grass or sticks for a nest and do it out in full sunlight. Mama flies off like she's crippled to lead you away.
I showed the pic's to locals and got everything from fuzzy rocks to moldy pasture pastries. Lot of people, including Flicker, didn't even see them.

Re: What is it?

Another view and mama bird in the road.
