This is the guideline for avatars as laid out in the DUF Forum Guidelines posted above.

Avatars – Avatars should be max 200px wide for quick download. It must be uploaded with a host that allows hot-linking (like Photobucket or Imageshack) in order for you to obtain a web address (URL) to your image.
