3rd Annual Candy Festival Promises Loads of Family Fun, Heartthrob David Cassidy...and FREE Candy

Fairfield-The Fairfield Downtown Association and the City of Fairfield's Community Services Department present the 3rd Annual Fairfield Candy Festival, October 10-11, 2003. This year's event merges elements from the wonderfully successful Candy Festival with the best parts from several other community events to provide one event to welcome families from throughout the region, from Sacramento to the Bay Area. We are expecting well over 40,000 fun-loving candy fans.

The 3rd Annual Fairfield Candy Festival kicks off on Friday night October 10, 2003 at 8pm, with a feature concert by 70's heartthrob David Cassidy at the intimate Fairfield Center for Creative Arts, 1035 Texas Street. The Candy Festival continues Saturday with a multifaceted event including a variety of candy related exhibits, vendors, and activities...with lots of samples. The Candy Festival provides opportunities for many community organizations' fundraisers. Local schools and youth organizations will host a number of these FUN-draisers, including Fairfield High School Aquatics Program Root Beer Float Fundraiser and Solano Christian Academy Ice Cream Social. Tons of family activities and entertainment will be on hand along with art exhibits, craft and commercial booths, and food court. A full slate of activities is in store on Saturday October 11 from 10am-5pm. Corporate sponsors include Jelly Belly, Thompson's Chocolate, Platinum Luxury Limousine the City of Fairfield and the Redevelopment Agency.

Tickets are available for David Cassidy at City Hall at the Mall, 707-428-7664. For more information, or if you would like to be a vendor, participant or entertainer, please contact the Fairfield Downtown Association at 707-422-0103, or the Arts & Community Events Division at 707-428-7662 or check www.fairfielddowntown.com .
