I think he makes a big deal out of it because I've heard a lot of people have been knocking him on the internet and such saying he doesn't take care of his mother financially/physically, and it's a private matter for him. I guess he's just trying to put the rumors to rest. And I think he chose to share with us because he knows we truly are devoted fans and he trusts us like that. At least that's what I made of it.
