How do i upload my website so i can start editing it?

I have tried and tried but i don't know how to do it

Please let me know- I am in limbo I geuss, still in the 24-72 hour period. I thought it would be so much easier than this. Once your template is actually up and working (yours was zipped, right?), were you able to work from it with tools etc.? I put mine on my desktop in hopes of pecking away at it one page at a time, but now I can't even open the file. I do have Java, but still can't move anything over. Also, do I need to know HTML for this? Thanks- Susan
